LISA HANEY BEACHLER left this life on December 21, 2012.Lisa was born September 20, 1959, in Little Rock to Johnnie and Pauline (Polly) Haney. She is survived by her husband Brian Beachler, two stepsons and five stepgrandchildren.She is also survived by two aunts and four cousins. Lisa was a Master’s Degree Registered Nurse. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and Delta Delta Delta and Beta Sigma Phi sororities. Lisa dedicated her personal and professional life to helping those in need. One of her greatest accomplishments was overseeing the building of another one of her humanitarian efforts, Hospice Home Care Inpatient facility on Bowman Road in Little Rock. There our community will forever benefit from her selfless work. Whatever Lisa did, she always gave 110 percent. She and her vivacious life will be missed. DOROTHEA “DOTTIE” DOUGLAS of North Little Rock/Plano, Texas departed this life to be with her Heavenly Father on December 23, 2012. Dorothea was born in Redwing, Kansas, September 30, 1932, to Fredonna and Luther Clift. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay R. Douglas III, her son, Jay R. Douglas, IV, father, Luther V. Clift and her mother, Fredonna Clift. Dorothea was a member of Levy Baptist Church, NLR, Arkansas.

She is survived by Melinda Moore, her daughter and her husband, Donald Moore, a daughter-in-law, Dean Douglas, a brother, Robert Clift and his wife Jan, five grandchildren, Kyle, Eric, Jay V, Keagan and Mason, one niece, Patricia, and four nephews, Robert, David, Tim and Michael.

Funeral services will be held at Roller-Owens Funeral Chapel, 5509 John F. LALLA HELEN MARGRUDER LINDSEY, 90, of North Little Rock and most recently of Little Rock passed away Saturday December 22, 2012. She was born March 29, 1922, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Elsie and Jerry Margruder. They later moved to Chicago where she grew up. Upon graduating from high school, she worked and then went to Arkansas tovisit relatives, where she mether husband Charles Lindsey. She was a long time member of Park Hill Baptist Church and loved her church family. She loved her Lord, her family and friends. She had a zest for livingand laughing with everyone.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband Charles Lindsey, and grand children Charles Kevin Ross and Kimberly Ann Burns. The last seven years she suffered from Alzheimer’s disease but still loved everyone. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Ross (Ken) of Sherwood, Lalla Burris of North Little Rock, Kathy Lindsey of Little Rock and grandchildren, Mark Burris of Texas, Kristyn Ross of Sherwood and Daniel Robertson of Belmont North Carolina. Other survivors include her two brothers Paul Margruder (Leah) of Chicago and Jerry Margruder of Asbury Park, New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road on December 27th, 2012 at 11 a.m. with a visitation at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. MARIAN CATHERINE RADER, 83, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 22, 2012. She was born November 15, 1929, in Whitehouse, Ohio, to the late Ira and Lettie (Hashbarger) Butler. She was a homemaker and a current member of Word Covenant Church, and a previous member of Assembly of God in Cave City, and a “lifelong servant of God.” She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nelson Rader, and three sisters. She is survived byfive children; 15 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way. THOMAS O. SIMMONS, 80, of North Little Rock passed awayFriday, Dec. 21, 2012. After graduating from North Little Rock High School, he worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad for 10 years. He retired from the Arkansas Air National Guard, and wasa retired Captain from the North Little Rock Fire Department and serving in the fire marshal’s office. He was a member of Baring Cross Baptist and a Master Mason at Big Rock Lodge for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Connie S. Simmons; two daughters, Karen Simmons Ashley (Bryant) and Barbara Simmons Satterfield; son, Thomas Dean Simmons (Diane); four grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Montgomery (Blake), Daniel Ashley (fiance Andrea Nehus), Sy Satterfield and Bret Satterfield; two great-grandchildren, Clayton and Laney Montgomery; and brother, Jack Simmons (Marilyn). He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas O. Simmons, Sr. and Pearl Hand Simmons.

ARIZONA ELIZA WINFREY, 93, of College Station, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on December 21, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boss Winfrey; three sons; four daughters; one grandson; and eight siblings. She attended College Station School and was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church #4. Her loving survivors include: three daughters, Frances Brown, Catherine and Felicia Winfrey; two sons, Steven and Gerald Winfrey; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a special son in-law, Thaddius Brown; and also a special granddaughter, Sherrie Collier; a host of other loving relatives and special friends. ALMA - Bonnie J. Dyer, age 73, of Alma died Friday, December 21, 2012. She was born November 1, 1939, in Umpire, Arkansas, the daughter of the late James and Mattie Davis. She is survived by her son, Charles B. (Chuck) DyerJr., his wife Stacie, six grandchildren, Kyle, his wife, Laura, Charles B. (Trey) Dyer III, Darian, Garrett England (Ged), Martin Davis, and Daniel Jackson, and one great-grandchild, Jayson James Reinhart.

Bonnie Dyer was the wife for 53 years of the late Charles B. Dyer, longtime Superintendent of Schools in Alma. Mrs. Dyer was a graduate of Henderson State Teachers College, also receiving the Master of Education and Educational Specialist degrees from the University of Arkansas. Prior to coming to Alma, she taught in Copperas Cove, Texas, for five years. She began teaching English and business education at Alma High School in 1966 and soon became a guidancecounselor at Alma High School, a position that she held until her death.

Mrs. Dyer was active in many professional organizations, including Kappa Kappa Iota Education Service Organization, the Arkansas School Counselors Association, of which she was chosen as Arkansas Counselor of the year in 2010, and the Arkansas Association of Psychological Examiners.

She was also an active member of several local civic organizations, including the Alma Friends of the Library and the Crawford County Library Board, the Women’s Community League of Alma of which she was a founding member, and the Miss Arkansas River Pageant, for which she served as Assistant Director and through which she became qualified as a one star judge in the Miss America system.

She was very active in the First United Methodist Church of Alma, for which she served as church treasurer for over 20 years.

Memorial service will be Thursday, December 27 at 11 a.m. at the Alma Performing Arts Center, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. Private interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma preceding the service.

The family will receive visitors at the Alma Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, December 26, 2011, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Pallbearers are Jay Flenor, Stan Flenor, Mike McSpadden, Ed Thicksten, Wayne Thompson, and David Woolly.

BRADFORD - Kathleen Moody, age 81 of Bradford died Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Searcy. She was born September 19, 1931 in Newport, Arkansas to Ivy Burleson and Eliza Mitchum Burleson. She was a homemaker and a member of Possum Grape Church of Christ.

She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Pearce and husband Randy of Batesville; one grandson, Andrew Pearce of Batesville; two sisters, Donnie Mathis of Judsonia, Agnes Smith of Bradford; and one brother, Billy Burleson of Possum Grape.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivy and Eliza Burleson; husband, David Lee Moody; two sisters, Grace Monday, Violet Kennedy; one brother, Buster Burleson; and one infant granddaughter, Sara Pearce.

PINE BLUFF - Sara Alice Bays May, 92, of Pine Bluff, died December 23, 2012. The daughter of the late Horace H. and Gladys Mamie Quinn Bays was born in Pine Bluff September 18, 1920, was a Pine Bluff High School graduate and attended Ouachita Baptist College.

As a young woman she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone and E.B. and F.R. Bloom. She married Charles A. May, Jr. on December 19, 1941. Mr. May died December 17, 1992. She joined the Cotton Belt Railroad, workingthere for thirty years before retiring as a Purchasing Department secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the DAR.

Her survivors include a daughter, Alisa May Ragans (Charlie) of Hoschton, Georgia; four granddaughters, Kristen Ragans Clements, Kerry Ragans Smith, Cynthia May Scallion, and Jennifer May Ford; seven great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Sprout May of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles A. “Chuck” May, III and a brother, Horace H. Bays, Jr.

Services are Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son. The family will receive friends at Robinson’s from 10 a.m. until service time. Private burial follows in Graceland Cemetery.
