Tarantino unchained

By The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

This article was published December 27, 2012 at 11:18 a.m.

Director Quentin Tarantino is in his full twisted glory in his latest film, Django Unchained.

Tarantino’s heroes suffer and suffer greatly. He follows a successful approach to film narrative: The greater the peril and anguish you visit on your audience, the better and more fulfilling payoff you give them at the end when the hero still triumphs.

And his bounty hunter hero in Django Unchained fits right in. He’s burned, branded, whipped, strung upside down naked and beaten more than half to death. But you should see the other guys.

See Friday's MovieStyle section of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette for the full review.
