Mother DOROTHY “DOT” LEACH GRAY was born in Greenbrier, Arkansas on September 7, 1927 to the union of James and Ola Leach.

On December 21, 2012, Mother Dorothy “Dot” Gray transitioned into eternity with a smile on her face. She joinedher parents, five siblings, her nieces, Carolyn, Jacquelyn, Cheryl, and Bernadine, granddaughter, Cashundra and many other relatives.

She leaves to cherish with loving memories four sons: Reverend Willie James “Sony” Brown of Brookhaven, Mississippi, Anthony Wayne Gray, Kenneth (Renee) Lowell Gray and Beauje Moore all of North Little Rock; three daughters, Esther (Sherman) Watson of North Little Rock, Cynthia (Ben) Edwards of Morrilton, Arkansas, Deborah (Chet) Janecki of Seminole, Florida; extended children, Charles (Carolyn) Murphy of Little Rock and Linda Watson of North Little Rock; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends. PATRICIA CROSS KELTNER of Little Rock, a devoted wife, caring mother, loyal friend and caregiver to many, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012. Pat was born on April 17, 1937 in Bauxite, Arkansas, to Bob and Joyce Cross. She was known as“Pattee” to her friends in Bauxite and at the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority and the university Hall of Fame. Upon graduation, she married Bill Keltner, and for most of their 52 years together, they lived in Little Rock as they raised their family and served the community that they loved. A dedicated mother, Pat served as a Girl Scout leader, a PTA president, and a youth counselor at Trinity Methodist Church. She was known for her gentle and quiet spirit, and some of her favorite things were working in her garden and collecting old bottles and seashells. She loved being with her husband, raising her children, caring for her parents, babysitting her grandchildren, and doting on her faithful dog, Bear. She is survived by her brother, Robert Cross; daughter, Ann Slack (husband Clay and children, Trey and Robert); son, Bob Keltner (wife Amy and children, Peter and Hannah); and daughter,Julie Hughes (husband Mike and children Isabella and Jackson). A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 31 at Trinity United Methodist Church, followed by a reception in their Fellowship Hall. BAUXITE - Lexie Elaine Wilmoth, 92, of Bauxite, who was knownto her family as “Mama Lane,” passed from this life on Dec. 25, 2012, to join her beloved family members who had gone before. She was born in Saline County on Dec. 14, 1920.

Mama Lanewas cherished by everyone who was privileged enough to cross her path. She was famous for saying “let me love your neck” and had a special gift for making everyone she met feel special and loved. She was born and raised on the same piece of land on which she eventually passed away, and that was her wish. Home was where her heart was, and she made a special place for everyone who graced her doorstep. “The welcome mat is always out,” she would say. A more loving, hard-working Christian woman has never before been made.

She is survived by two sons, A. Charles (Shorty) Wilmoth (DeAnne) and J. Randle Wilmoth (Jane), grandchildren include Lori Reeves (Max), Amy Watts (James), Molly Spencer (Rob) and Jon Wilmoth; sister Lois Tipton, and seven great-grandchildren, Ellen and Caroline Reeves, Alex, Emily and Sara Moushegian, and Lexie and Austin Spencer. Mama Lane was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Wilmoth, brothers, Pete Reynolds and Clyde Reynolds, hermother Lexie Reynolds, her father Frank Reynolds and granddaughter Cindy Wilmoth Moushegian.

Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (315-4047). BENTONVILLE - Lari Lemond Valentine, 52, left this world December 22, 2012. She was born in Little Rock on July 30, 1960, to Bill and Melba Lemond. Lari lived the last several years of her life very happy in her marriage to Keith Valentine, originally fromCheyenne, Wyoming, but most recently living in Bentonville.

Lari was known by all her friends and family as having always lived to the beat of a different drum and was the consummate entrepreneur. An avid lover of deep-sea fishing, she and her husband relished their numerous times together on the back of a boat in Manzanillo, Mexico.

She is survived by her husband, Keith Valentine; daughter Chelsea Friesen of Bentonville; her mother, Melba Lemond of Little Rock; sister, Cindy Flowers of Little Rock; brother Russell Lemond of Little Rock.

CABOT - Cleo C. Bynum, 96 of Toltec Community, went home tobe with her Lord and Savior on December 23, 2012. She was a homemaker and a member of Toltec Baptist Church for 66 years. Cleo was born October 29, 1916, in Apline, Ark., the daughter of Sam and Viola McElrath-Ward. She married Frank Bynum on September 8, 1934.

Cleo was preceded in death by her husband; 3 sisters: Loys Gardner, Viola (Delonia) Reynolds, Ewilda Ward; and one brother, Truly Ward; son-in-law, Charles Patterson; one grandchild and five greatgrandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Sammie (Jack) Finton, and Betty Patterson of Cabot; one son, Jerry (Dian) of Hazen; eight grandchildren, twenty greatgrandchildren, and 11 great-greatgrandchildren.

CONWAY - Hazel Lasley, 95, of Conway, passed away December25, 2012. Hazel E. Lasley was born on May 4, 1917, to L.T. and Agnes (Matthews) Lasley at Enola. She was a Professor at Washington State University, a member of The Waves, the Conway BPW,Conway Regional Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, Enola Baptist Church, Conway Town and Country Garden Club, Faulkner County Historical Society as well as the Arkansas Doll Club.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one niece and two nephews, as well as many beloved great-nieces and great-nephews and God children Anisa and Mika Doty. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Guy Lasley, Fay Lasley, Francis Lasley and Ellis Lasley; sisters Jewell Lasley, Myrtle Setzler, Irma Bell and Lois Ingram.

CROSSETT - Mr. Robert “Dawg” Baldwin, 64 of Crossett, Ark., diedFriday, December 21. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a former employee of G.P. Paper Mill, a member of First Baptist and a Mason, Exodus Lodge 403. Mr. Baldwin was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fox, squirrel & deer hunting. He was a member of Blue Buck Hunting Club, H&G Riding Club & the Dixie Region Team Pinning Assoc. He was serving as President of Blue Buck Hunting and H&G Riding Clubs. He also was a volunteer firefighter for the Milo Community.

GILLETT - Ben Spanel, who resided in Gillett, Arkansas, formerly of Charleston, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Little Rock hospital. He was born March 16, 1966 in Paris to George Joseph Spanel and Rose Mary (Stehle) Spanel. He was 46 years old. Ben was preceded in death by his father, George Joseph “Pete” Spanel.

Ben was a chemical engineer and supervisor for Clearwater Paper Company in McGehee, Arkansas. He was a 1984 graduate of Charleston High School, an avid hunter and fisherman, and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston.

Rosary service will be 7 p.m. Friday, December 28th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Funeral Mass will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 29th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston. He is survived by his wife, Lynne’ (Keffer) Spanel of the home; one step-daughter, Haley Watkins of Jonesboro; one step-son, Jonathan Watkins and wife Haley of Dewitt; his mother, Rose Mary Spanel of Lavaca; six sisters, Virginia Bradshaw and husband Ed of Shreveport, Louisiana, Mary Ann Ramos and husband Joe of Charleston, Betty Scoggins and husband Randy of Charleston, Dolores Hoyt and husband Martin Jr. of Lavaca, Teresa Blevins of Lavaca, and Susan Jones and husband Raymond of Greenville, Tennessee; three brothers, Frank Spanel and wife Faye “Sis” of Charleston, William Spanel and wife Ellen of Charleston, and Augustine Spanel and wife Kathy of Atlanta, Texas.

GRADY - Will Edd Grimes departed this life on Dec. 25, 2012, in Pine Bluff, Ark. He was born in Carden Bottoms, Yell County, Ark., on Aug. 20, 1933, to Aubrey O. Grimes and Reba Branson Grimes.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda Grimes of Grady; a son, William Scott Grimes and his wife Cindy of Dumas, Ark.; a daughter, Terri Lea Grimes of Warren, Ark.; a stepson, Steve Smith and wife, Tammy of Garrett Bridge, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Kim Richter of Star City, Ark.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Harold Grimes of San Antonio, Texas, and Melvin Grimes of Lake Village, Ark.; a sister, Marilynn Bradshaw of Gould, Ark.; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

He served in the United States Army following graduation from Grady High School. He spent his working life in farming and trucking. His favorite hobby was crappie fishing with his wife, Linda. He was a member of Dark Corner Christian Church near Gould, Ark.

The funeral will be held at Dark Corner Christian Church, located on Highway 83, southwest of Gould, Ark., on Friday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. with burial following at Dark Corner Cemetery with the Reverend Tom Bowlby officiating.

He departed this life on December 22, 2012 at White River Medical in Batesville, Arkansas. Alvin was united in marriage to Frankie Joann Davis on June 17,1975, in Sarasota, Florida. He loved bowling and playing pool and was self employed as a truck driver. Alvin was of the Protestant faith.

JONESBORO - Mrs. Laura Evaline Greer Collier of Jonesboro,formerly of Harrisburg, departed this life Monday night, Dec. 24, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born Nov. 13, 1922, in Harrisburg, the daughter of Irving M.and Mary Frances Greer.

Laura attended Arkansas State College in Jonesboro and graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College in 1943 with a BSE degree. She taught fourth grade at Harrisburg Elementary School from 1959-1962. Later she was a legal secretary for the family law firm and abstract office. She was very active in various school and community organizations.

Laura was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she faithfully served as a choir member, pianist and organist from 1953 to 1993. As a gifted vocalist, pianist and organist, she shared her many talents with the community, by singing and playing for weddings, funerals and other special events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years, Louie K. Collier, and identical twin sister, Louise Collier. She is survived by her two daughters, Lou Anne (Danny) Clements of Jonesboro and Becky Jean (Larry) Jennings of Harrisburg; her brother, Irving Spence Greer of Hanford, Calif.; grandchildren, Todd Clements, Cindy McDaniel, Matt Clements, Ken Jennings, Kelli DeClerk, Brent Jennings and nine great-grandchildren.

LAVACA - Frank Warren Miros, 79, of Lavaca, Ark., passed awayon December 25, 2012 at St. Edwards/Mercy Hospice in Fort Smith, Ark., after a short illness. He was born in Huntington, W.Va., on August 24, 1933 to the late Francis and Elizabeth (McGinnis) Miros.Frank graduated from Saint Joseph High School in Huntington in 1951. He went on to Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina for four years and graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. Frank was a veteran of the Korean War and early in his service career was stationed in Fort Smith, Ark., where he met his loving wife of 41 years, the late Frances Elizabeth “Betty” Sokora. They were married in Slovak, Ark., in 1957. Fort Smith became their home and Frank was the President of Westark Medical Supply Company in that city. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and a booster of many school programs. He had a kind, generous spirit and enjoyed cooking for others. He was a dedicated caregiver for family, friends, and troubled youth. He also enjoyed challenges, and was proud that, in his younger days of Scouting, he had earned the rank of Eagle Scout as well as the Ad Altare Dei Award.

In addition to his present spouse, Norma, whom he married in 2002, Frank leaves behind to celebrate his life, four sons, Michael (Suzi) Miros of Benton, Ark., Stephen (Kim) Miros of Ocala, Fla., Gregory (Kathy) Miros of Little Rock, Ark., and David (Jen) Miros of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Michele (Jimmy) Jones of Talmo, Ga., Lisa (Donald) Drewry of Rogers, Ark., and four step-daughters. Frank has 12 grandchildren, Sarah Westmoreland, Andrew, Matthew and Thomas Miros, Meghan and Emily Miros, Lauren, Tim, Sam, and Landon Drewry, Kade Miros, and Elise Miros; two sisters, Nancy Miros Denny of Columbus, Ohio, and Therese Miros Stewart of Gainesville, Ga.; aunt Nellie Stone; nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A gathering of remembrance, which will include the recitation of the Rosary, will be held on Sunday evening, December 30, 2012 at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in Slovak, Ark., at 7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be offered in Slovak on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Saints Cyril and Methodius Church. WALNUT RIDGE - Tommie Jean Tolson, 87 of Walnut Ridge, passed away Dec. 25, 2012 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born June 19, 1925 in Dalton, daughter of Everett and Mazie Bailey Stubblefield. She was united in marriage for 66 years to Billy Ray Tolson on Oct. 5, 1946. She was a Southwestern Bell Telephone Operator, Field Representative for (NORC) University of Chicago and a homemaker.

She also volunteered as a Welcome Wagon Hostess in Walnut Ridge, Lawrence Co. Historical Society, Meals on Wheels Coordinator for Walnut Ridge, Lawrence Co. Food Bank, Adult Literacy Coach, Lawrence Co. Resource Council, Lawrence Co. Hospice Coordinator, Gideon International Women’s Auxiliary, First Baptist Church Sunday School Teacher, Women’s Missionary Union, Vacation Bible School, Youth Mission Groups and various mission trips served.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and a sister, Nadine Pierce of Nashville, Tenn. She is survived by four sons, Ron and Marsha Tolson of Little Rock, Brent and Cheryl Tolson of Winfield, Kan., Barry and Martha Tolson of Jonesboro, and Phillip Tolson of Walnut Ridge; a sister, Mary Ellen Dearborn of Rosamond, Calif.; five grandchildren, Stephanie Adams of Little Rock, Matthew Tolson of Rogers, Jennifer Schmitt of Lake Jackson, Texas, Kimberly Tolson of Lewiston, Idaho, and Drew Tolson of Jonesboro; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Adams of Little Rock, Cameron and Maddison Schmitt both of Lake Jackson, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.

EDGERTON, Mo. - Shirley (Cullum) Harmer, 66, of Edgerton, Mo., passed away, December 23, 2012. She was born on June 4, 1946, to Frank and Ruth May (Lamb) Cullum in Clinton, Ark., where she grew up and attended school. On June 12, 1964, she was united in marriage to Robert Harmer. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City and later made their home in Edgerton. Shirley was a nurse for over 45 years. She loved to read and spend time with her family.
