Woman killed walking across West Memphis street

WEST MEMPHIS — Arkansas State Police say a West Memphis woman is dead after she was struck by a pickup truck while walking across a street.
State police say the fatal collision happened Thursday afternoon on East Broadway Avenue in West Memphis. A preliminary report says 59-year-old Barbara Darby stepped into traffic and was struck by a pickup truck.
State police say Darby was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck’s driver was not injured in the collision.
