— 2nd suspect in bank robbery is arrested

Little Rock police arrested a man Friday who they say robbed a bank branch in west Little Rock earlier this month.

Jerry Johnson, 24, of 324 Nebling Road was arrested about 1:15 p.m. at 7510 Geyer Springs Road on a warrant charging him with aggravated robbery and theft of property. He was being held Friday evening at the Pulaski County jail without bail.

A police report said that Johnson’s purported accomplice, Angela Richardson, 42, of 3910 Asher Ave., entered the Metropolitan National Bank branch at 7401 Cantrell Road about 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 12 and demanded money from a teller. Police said an armed man then entered the bank, demanded money andordered everyone to get on the floor.

After Richardson collected the cash, she pepper-sprayed the teller, who did not suffer serious injuries, and the pair left, Little Rock police spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis said at the time.

No customers were in the bank at the time, and no one else was injured.

Investigators received tips after Johnson’s picture was broadcast, and police developed Richardson as a suspect also, Davis has said.

Richardson turned herself in the day after the robbery and has since posted bond and been released.
