Police to patrol for drunken New Year's Eve drivers

By The Associated Press

This article was published December 31, 2012 at 12:30 p.m.

— Law enforcement officers in Arkansas plan to be on the roads to catch drunken drivers on New Year’s Eve.

State police have had special patrols throughout the holiday season and many local agencies will have extra officers on duty Tuesday night.

In Little Rock, officers will be working overtime to patrol for impaired drivers. Little Rock police will also have mobile units on duty to answer an anticipated increase in calls about shots being fired.

Authorities say a number of weapons charges may be brought against people firing guns to ring in the new year.

If you want to stop drunken driving put the guilty in jail for 5 years, no parole. That would stop this crap. I guess if enough congressmen lose family members or judges then the law will change. It is not fair for innocent people to be killed or disfigured so these maggots can have fun.
