This article was published February 1, 2012 at 7:56 p.m.

— A 53-year-old Arkansas man has died after the log truck he was driving veered off the road and crashed into a creek.

Louisiana State Police say Cleotha Avery, of Strong was pronounced dead at the scene by the Union Parish Coroner’s Office.

Authorities say Wednesday’s accident is still being investigated because the damage to the vehicle is not consistent with what is normally observed in fatal crashes.

The coroner’s office has ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
