LITTLE ROCK A federal judge in central Arkansas has sentenced a man who pleaded guilty to health care fraud to 27 months in prison.
The judge on Friday also ordered Archibong Edem-Effiong to pay back the nearly $1 million that prosecutors say he bilked from Medicare.
Edem-Effiong pleaded guilty to health care fraud last year in exchange for prosecutors dropping the rest of the charges against him and two other co-defendants.
He has 45 days to report to the federal prison system. His attorney, Stuart Vess, says Edem-Effiong is from Nigeria and lives in the Houston area with his wife.

Well, Josh. The man is likely a US Citizen or Resident Alien. And if we had sent him to Nigeria, he'd be living high on the hog with this money and never punished.
