— A search committee has narrowed the field of candidates for president of Henderson State University to three.

The school’s board of trustees on Friday approved the list of finalists during a special board meeting. J. Bradford Hodson, Dr. Richard F. Jacobs and Glendell Jones Jr. will visit the campus later this month.

Hodson is vice president for university advancement at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan., and Jacobs serves as president of Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute. Jones is the interim vice chancellor and provost at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

The committee received 46 applications and chose five semi-finalists who were interviewed by the committee on Wednesday and Thursday.

Trustee Johnny Hudson said he hopes a new president will be named during the first week of March.
