— Gov. Mike Beebe is traveling to China in April for an economic development trade mission, his third international trip since he took office in 2007.

Beebe’s office said Monday the governor will be part of a delegation headed to China. The Arkansas Economic Development Commission organized the trip. Beebe spokesman Matt DeCample said many of the details of the trip, including the specific dates and who Beebe will visit, are still being worked out.

DeCample said Beebe is visiting China because it is an important trade partner and at the urging of officials from Arkansas and China, according to a report by the Talk Business website.

Beebe’s other international trips were to Cuba and Europe, both in 2009.
