LAGOS, Nigeria — An environmental group says there is a new spill on an oil well run by Italian firm Eni SpA in Nigeria’s oil-rich southern delta.
Environmental Rights Action said Sunday that the spill is happening at a well head run by Eni’s Nigerian subsidiary in the Ikebere community of Bayelsa. That’s near a pipeline struck by militants last week and close to an offshore Chevron Corp. gas rig that remains ablaze after an apparent industrial accident Jan. 16.
