A robbery of a Sonic Drive-In in England ended with the suspects escaping with no money.
According to a report from the England Police Department, two black males entered the Sonic at 1003 E. Fordyce St. at 9:47 p.m. on Friday. While one suspect pointed a small handgun at the two employees in the restaurant, the second suspect ran back to the office area, grabbing a small, white bank bag.
Both suspects then fled out the back door while England police walked in.
According to witnesses, the two suspects then jumped a fence behind the restaurant, got in a black Chevrolet Impala — driven by a third suspect — and drove off, escaping authorities.
After further investigation, it was determined that the bank bag had been taken but it had no money in it.
