— A Clarendon man was fatally struck Thursday night while crossing an entry ramp onto Interstate 630, authorities said.

Timothy J. Daniels, 29, was walking south across the interstate shortly before 6:30 p.m. when he was hit by a Chevy Trailblazer on an eastbound ramp from Pine and Cedar streets, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report.

Daniels was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The driver, identified as Rudy Alvarado, 50, of Bryant, was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

I hate to raise such questions - but what was this fellow doing walking across a highway ramp at dark (or near dark)? Did he look before trying to cross? I highly suspect there is a lot more to this story than reported.

He was twenty-nine with a terrific personality and lots of friends and family that love him, have some respect, do unto others as you would have done unto you. How would you feel if this was someone close to you?

I happened to be going home from work @ that time, but the accident was on the opposite side of the intersate. It was dark & there was still a very heavy flow of traffic. I feel sorry for the person who was hit & the person that hit him. Very traumatic!!

a man died! y does it matter why someone was walking across highway on ramp. i dnt have a car and he didnt either when u dnt have a car u walk. it is wrong and heartless and disrepectful to the grieving family! Timothy was a very kind, giving, man who would give someone the shirt of his back!!! so that the family grieve and let Timothy rest in peace. i just hate that when something awful like this happens theres always one jerk that has to say something like this. I love u timothy daniels u will b missed by alot of ppl. R.I.P. Timothy J. Daniels

To thebatt if you really must know what he was doing I will tell you. He was leaving uams where he was visiting my aunt who died last night. And you are wrong ti raise such questions. He was walking because his vehicle was in Clarendon. He was on his way back to a good friends house. To arkyparky I don't even know what to say. I want to be mean but I will not let my brother die in vain and I am certain that tge two of you must be miserable or you would not have said these things. He was my brother and I loved him very much. I think tge two of you should have some decency and remove these comments. I have requested they be removed. I'm going to say a prayer for you two.

To the batt I know you are a retired teacher from Carlisle or a preacher from little rock and I don't believe a preacher would say something like that.
