Mississippi man accused of pulling gun on veterinarian

— A Moss Point man has been accused of pulling a gun on his veterinarian because he felt he had to wait too long to pick up his dog, according to Police Chief Keith Davis.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said 59-year-old Stephen Martinez remained in jail Sunday on an aggravated assault charge.

Davis told The Mississippi Press on Saturday that Martinez became angry with the staff of Animal Clinic in Escatawpa on Thursday because he felt he waited longer than others picking up their pets.

Martinez became belligerent, and two veterinarians escorted him out, Davis said.

He said Martinez allegedly pointed a gun at one veterinarian and pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire. He said Martinez was arrested later Thursday at his home.
