Renewal Ranch celebrates first year of operation

— Renewal Ranch held its first-year anniversary gala Jan. 28 at Family Life Bible Church in Conway.

The event was held in celebration of Renewal Ranch’s first year of operation. The faith-based, drug-and-alcohol rehabilitation program opened its doors Jan. 30, 2011.

Throughout Renewal Ranch’s first year, it is estimated that the program has impacted more than 300 people while graduating 10 men from the six-month intensive program.

The evening began with a dinner prepared by chef Don Bingham, followed by a ceremony to honor the ranch’s board of directors, leadership team, teachers, supporters, volunteers, current residents, graduates and their families.

Various representatives from these groups spoke to the 125 special guests in attendance.

One of the highlights of the evening was the Arkansas Senate Citation recognizing Renewal Ranch’s achievements over the past year, presented by state Sen. Jason Rapert, R-Conway.

Renewal Ranch, just outside Conway, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Through the program, residents receive counseling, Bible study and opportunities to serve others through community work projects.

Residents also receive the education, vocational training and life-skills training needed to become productive, contributing members of their families and communities.
