LITTLE ROCK A 33-year-old Little Rock man was fatally shot early Friday by an intruder who burst into his apartment and demanded money.
John Edward Williams was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time after the 12:22 a.m. shooting, police said.
Williams' girlfriend, identified in a report as Christina Dyer, told authorities the shooter kicked in the door of their apartment, 7500 S. University Ave., and repeatedly screamed for money.
The man then shot Williams in the left bicep, the left abdomen and the left chest before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored, 1970s Lincoln Towncar.
Police reportedly spotted a similar car in the area but lost it while pursuing it. The car was later found abandoned on Arkansas Children's Hospital property.
The shooter is described as a black man about 5-foot-7-inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was said to be wearing a tan jacket and blue jeans.
