Attempted drug robbery leaves one man shot

— An attempted drug robbery in south Little Rock sent one man to the hospital.

According to a report sent out by the Little Rock Police Department, two males broke into a home at 5200 Southboro Drive, kicking in the back door and then began to beat another man, identified in the report as Shadaze Tart, 26. One of the suspects in the report was identified as Clifton Withers, 29.

In the report it states that the two suspects attempted to take drugs from the homeowner, Tart, who was arrested for contempt of court, as well as individual counts of possession of marijuana, gun possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and maintaining drugs on the premise.

Once Tart was able to free himself from the two men, he obtained a gun, followed the two men outside and shot at the men, hitting one in the leg.

Tart was taken to the detective division for further questioning. Police later received a call from St. Vincent Medical Center pertaining to a gunshot victim, as which time investigators responded to the scene.

The shooting victim hasn't been charged at this time.
