CARRIE ELIZABETH ORAHOOD and MARK JOSEPH AMOX

LITTLE ROCK — Carrie Elizabeth Orahood and Mark Joseph Amox were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Friday, June 29, in All Souls Church at Scott. Officiating were the Rev. Gerry Claybrook of All Souls and the Rev. Robert Lewis of Fellowship Bible Church.

The bride is the daughter of Jeanette and Dr. James Paul Orahood, 3020 N. Rodney Parham Road. Her grandparents are the late Louise and Garland Primm and the late Josephine and John Orahood, all of Little Rock.

Parents of the groom are Mary Jo and Jarel Amox of Benton. His grandparents are the late Mabel and J.T. Joiner of El Dorado and the late Vera and M.J. Amox of Wake Village, Texas.

The altar was decorated with an arrangement of snapdragons, larkspur, peonies, roses and lilies in white, ivory and cream. Music was by the Jarboe String Quartet and Aaron Williams.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory beaded lace gown with a trumpet skirt and sweep train accented with an ivory floral sash. She carried white and cream peonies, gardenias, freesia and roses.

Flower girl was Madeleine Elizabeth Amox of Benton, daughter of the groom.

A reception at the Ashley-Alexander House in Scott followed the ceremony. Doorways were decorated with garlands of magnolia blossoms and leaves. The buffet held arrangements of roses, peonies and snapdragons. Outside tables held silver mint julep cups filled with roses and peonies.

The bride has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She is communications director for Fellowship Bible Church.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in arts and music from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, and master’s degrees in business administration and health-care administration from the University of Houston in Clear Lake, Texas. He is an administrator of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ division of pediatrics at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

The couple will live in Benton after a wedding trip to Nevis, British West Indies.
