Arkansas man accused of running over teen enters plea

— A man accused of running over a teenager with his minivan after the youth allegedly stole his wallet has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.

Michael Sadler entered the plea during an arraignment Monday in Pulaski County Circuit Court. Prosecutor Sean Strode says a pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 27, and a jury trial is set for Oct. 3.

Sadler is accused of running over 14-year-old Michael Stanley Jr. with his minivan on May 3.

Little Rock police say Stanley allegedly stole Sadler’s wallet at a convenience store and fled on his bicycle. Sadler is accused of pursuing him and running over Stanley, who later died at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Sadler’s attorney, David Cannon, was out of the office and didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment.
