Third person electrocuted at Lake of the Ozarks

— A 26-year-old Hazelwood woman died in another weekend dock electrocution at Lake of the Ozarks.

The Lake Sun Leader reports that the woman was swimming with two children near Dry Branch Cove’s 4-mile marker on Saturday night when a current of electricity hit the water. The two children were not injured.

The Columbia Missourian (http://bit.ly/NSsoKE) reports the Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the woman as Jennifer Lankford.

The death follows the Fourth of July deaths of Ashland siblings Alexandra and Brayden Anderson. The 13-year-old girl and her 8-year-old brother were electrocuted while swimming near a private dock at the 6.5 mile marker of the Gravois Arm. The patrol cited an improperly grounded electrical circuit as a contributing factor in their deaths.
