Harrison man pleads no contest in wife’s slaying

— A Harrison man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading no contest to a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of his wife.

Richard Kidd was sentenced Friday after entering the plea in Boone County Circuit in Harrison. Kidd was sentenced as part of a plea deal in which the charge was reduced from capital murder to first-degree murder.

The 70-year-old Kidd was charged in the February 2009 shooting death of 60-year-old Eugeneia Coursey. Coursey’s body was found in her car outside Kidd’s home.
