Boy accused of stabbing dog, setting fire

— Authorities say a juvenile has been arrested in Craighead County on suspicion of stabbing a dog and setting a house on fire.

Authorities say the boy will be charged in juvenile court. He was arrested this week on charges of arson, falsifying a police report and felony aggravated cruelty to animals.

The Jonesboro Sun reports that the dog survived the attack.

Craighead County Investigator Justin Rolland says authorities believe the boy threw a piece of concrete through a bedroom window and stabbed a dog last week at a relative's house.

Rolland says investigators believe the boy also poured an accelerant on an exterior wall of the home and set it on fire, but the blaze burned itself out without causing major damage.
