LITTLE ROCK — The registration deadline has been extended to Friday for a Civil War symposium in Fayetteville scheduled for Aug. 9-11, an Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission official announced.
The commission is sponsoring the symposium along with the National Park Service. The registration fee is $25.
The conference - An Empire in Extent: The Civil War West of the Mississippi - will be at the University of Arkansas Global Campus in Fayetteville.
Topics include discussions on issues at stake during the war and the Civil War experience of those who lived west of the Mississippi River, including Arkansans.
