2 killed, 4 injured in pair of crashes

— Two Arkansans were killed in separate car and motorcycle accidents on Arkansas roadways Saturday, according to preliminary Arkansas State Police fatality reports.

Ken Cash, 68, of Rogers was traveling southbound on North Jackson Highway in Washington County around 10:50 a.m. when he ran off the west side of the road, a report states.

Cash crashed his 1994 Harley-Davidson motorcycle into the ditch, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 4:45 p.m., Tarika Hurd, 27, of Texarkana died on U.S. 82 after her westbound vehicle was struck by an eastbound vehicle that crossed the center line in Texarkana, a report states.

Hurd’s vehicle left the roadway and stopped in a ditch on the highway’s north side.

Miller County Coroner Eddie Hawkins pronounced Hurd dead at 5:25 p.m., according to the report.

Demetrice Hurd of Texarkana, William Burgess of Texarkana, Megan Coffey of Lewisville and Kelly Harvin of Lewisville were injured in the crash and have since been discharged from Texarkana area hospitals, according to hospital officials.
