ON TV CONTEST

— So, chuckle-worthy sitcoms got their praise in the last contest. Now it’s time to break out the tissues.

For the new On TV Contest, the judge asks: What is your favorite drama? Why?

It’s very easy to enter. Just select one hour-long, prime-time TV drama and let the judge know why it’s the best in your book.

Were you sucked in by the soapy antics of the original Melrose Place? Do you still get misty-eyed when you think of Sisters? Or is the legal wrangling on Law & Order more your speed?

“Reality” series and daytime soaps are not allowed. If you’re uncertain whether your choice qualifies, feel free to ask the judge.

Your entry may take any form you choose, whether it’s a Shakespearean sonnet or a song set to the Dallas theme song. Be sure you explain your choice.

Send the entry (one per contestant), including your mailing address and daytime phone number, to Jennifer Nixon at 121 E. Capitol Ave., Little Rock, Ark. 72201; or by e-mail to jnixon@arkansasonline.com. Entries must be received no later than 3 p.m. Aug. 27.

The reader with the best-written entry will get to choose from Judge Nixon’s Fabulous Prize Pile of TV DVD sets.

Who can enter: Anyone except the winner of the last contest, Gamin Davis of Springdale, and Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC employees.

Note to privacy-conscious readers: We do not compile lists of mail or e-mail addresses for evil plots or marketing purposes. All entries are destroyed after the judge has selected her winner.
