Are the new electronic ‘baby sitters’ better than TV?

Research indicates that plopping a toddler down with an iPad or other interactive screen device may be better than time spent in front of the boob tube. There is something about connecting with the content — pressing a space bar to make puppets appear from their hiding places in one scenario — that seems to improve the youngsters’ ability to learn from the screen as opposed to educational videos.
