— Police are investigating the death of a 25-year-old Little Rock woman at her home Tuesday morning as the city’s 26th homicide.

About 7:22 a.m., friends of Alexis Khabeer stopped by her home at 5903 Hutsell Road to check on her and then called police, according to police spokesman Sgt. Cassandra Davis.

When officers arrived, they found Khabeer dead, but the cause of death was not immediately apparent, Davis said. After an autopsy, the death was ruleda homicide, she said.

Davis would not say exactly where the woman’s body was found or describe the nature of her injuries.

Detectives do not have any suspects at this time, she said.

The Little Rock Police Department includes the May 23 accidental shooting death of Tyjuan Woodard, 14, in its homicide count, putting the department’s homicide total at 27.

Little Rock police had recorded 18 homicides by this time last year. There were 37 homicides in Little Rock in 2011.
