JONESBORO — A Jonesboro teenager was arrested Wednesday and charged with capital murder, aggravated robbery and aggravated residential burglary, according to a Jonesboro police news release.
Thomas Joe Hunter, 16, was charged as an adult in the Tuesday evening shooting death of Kenny Brown, whose age was not available, at 1007 W. Monroe St.
Witnesses said Hunter shot through an apartment door and demanded money, according to the release. Brown was shot as he and his brother attempted to disarm the attacker, the news release said.
Hunter told police he was trying to rob a “dice game” inside Brown’s residence so he could put minutes on his cell phone, the release said.
Hunter was held without bond.
