Ex-Ashley’s chef to give talk in LR

— Lee Richardson, former executive chef at Ashley’s at the Capital Hotel in Little Rock, will speak Thursday at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service.

Richardson will discuss the social responsibility of curating and preserving Arkansas’ culture through food in a lecture from 6 to 7 p.m. in Sturgis Hall, a news release said.

After getting his start as a prep cook at Emeril Lagasse’s NOLA in the French Quarter, Richardson worked his way up the New Orleans food scene and eventually became chef d’cuisine at John Besh’s Restaurant August. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he landed in Little Rock at Ashley’s.

Seats can be reserved by e-mailing publicprograms@c lintonschool.uasys.edu or by calling (501) 683-5239.
