— A North Little Rock man faces rape and kidnapping charges after breaking into a woman’s house last year and sexually assaulting her, reports state.

Quinton Riley Jr., 25, of 9 Spear St. was charged Wednesday with rape, kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated residential burglary, terroristic threatening, theft of property and third-degree battery, an arrest report states.

About 6 a.m. Oct. 15, a North Little Rock woman woke up to see her son sitting up in their bed staring at the doorway. As the woman looked toward the door, she saw a man standing over her, an affidavit states.

As she screamed, the man grabbed her by the neck and forced her into the living room, where he began placing duct tape around her wrists behind her back, the affidavit states. He also covered her eyes, nose, mouth and ears with tape, the affidavit states.

The man then raped and sodomized the woman, the affidavit states. After the assault, the man began unplugging several items in the living room and dragged them toward the kitchen, the affidavit states.

When the man returned to the living room, he said, “Now I got to kill you ... because I know you seen my face when I came in your room,” according to reports. The woman pleaded with the man not to kill her and he left the room, asking the woman’s son, “Do you know my face?” the report states.

The man then left the residence and the woman called police. She was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where she was treated and evidence was taken, the affidavit states.

On May 17, Riley was developed as a suspect and a sample of his DNA was sent to the state Crime Laboratory for comparison. On July 19, the Crime Laboratory reported that “neither Quinton Riley, nor any of his paternally related male relative[s], can be excluded as the contributor” of the DNA found during the examination of the woman at the hospital, the affidavit states.

The next day, Riley told detectives that he knew the victim, but that they had had consensual sex. Riley then stated that he “could have done it, but went on to say that if he had smoked some sherm that night, that he would not remember doing it,” the affidavit states.

Riley, who was already being held at the Pulaski County jail on unrelated charges, was charged Wednesday with the rape. He was being held at the jail Thursday night without bail.
