— One of two North Little Rock men who police found shot early Wednesday morning died Thursday afternoon.

North Little Rock Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brian Dedrick said Stevie Estes Jr., 21, of 329 E. 44th St. was pronounced dead at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock.

The second man, Robert Ingram, 21, remained in serious condition at a local hospital.

The two men were found after officers patrolling the area of Silver City Courts at 701 W. 18th St. heard six to seven gunshots.

When they reached the 2000 block of Percy Machin Drive, Dedrick said, they spotted a vehicle parked in the road.

Estes was in the driver’s seat and was unresponsive, police reports said, and Ingram was in the back seat.

Dedrick said detectives suspect that the men were shot during an attempted robbery.

According to detectives, a black man was seen running from the car.

Any additional information about the shooting or possible suspects was unavailable Thursday night.

Estes’ death is the fifth homicide in North Little Rock this year.
