A Little Rock man was arrested Thursday night in the May robbery of a McDonald’s manager outside his restaurant, police said.

Michael Pippins, 29, of 2930 S. Ringo St. was arrested at Roosevelt Road and Broadway during a traffic stop and charged with one count each of aggravated robbery and theft of property, police said.

About 4:30 p.m. May 21, Danny Moore, manager of the McDonald’s at 10201 N. Rodney Parham Road, was walking to his car with the business’s bank deposit bag when he was approached by a man who had just gotten out of a car in the parking lot, police said. The man lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun in a holster and stated, “Don’t make me kill you ... give me the money,” according to police reports.

Moore gave the money to the man, who then drove off.

When detectives reviewed the store’s surveillance footage, they found the man had pulled into the back parking lot about 45 minutes before the robbery while Moore was inside preparing the deposit, according to reports.

Pippins was developed asa suspect and warrants were obtained for his arrest, police said.

Pippins was being held Thursday night at the Pulaski County jail. Bail had not been set.

A Little Rock man faces battery charges after a 6-month-old he was caring for suffered swelling of the brain and femur and rib fractures, police reports state.

Michael Allison, 22, of 11500 Chicot Road, Lot 59, surrendered to officers at the Little Rock Police Department at 700 W. Markham St. about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday and was charged with first-degree battery, an arrest report states.

On Feb. 10, officers were called to Arkansas Children’s Hospital to take an assault report. Police spoke with a social worker, who said a 6-month-old girl had been admitted with “a fractured femur, multiple rib fractures and swelling on the brain, possibly due to being shaken,”an affidavit states.

Ressie Brooks, the child’s grandmother, told police she took the child’s mother, Tara Brooks, and the baby to run errands Feb. 9, according to reports. When Ressie Brooks was taking the child from her car seat, she noticed the child’s face was bruised and that she “cringed” or “shivered” when she was picked up, the affidavit states.

Ressie Brooks then persuaded Tara Brooks to take the child to the hospital, reports state.

Tara Brooks told detectives Allison watches the child when she is attending class or is out of town, reports said.

Tara Brooks said she noticed bruising around the baby’s mouth when she returned from a recent trip. When she asked Allison about the bruising, he said the baby had rolled off the bed and hit her face on the bed or bed rails, the affidavit states.

Warrants were obtained July 20 for Allison’s arrest.

He was being held Thursday night at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $30,000 bond.

Finger pointed at robbery suspect

A North Little Rock man was arrested after he was pointed out as the personwho robbed a convenience store the night before, police reports state.

About 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, a man entered the Shell Superstop at 2701 MacArthur Drive and was seen stuffing sandwiches into the front pockets of his pants. Store employee Richard Carter, 21, tried to stop the man and grabbed his arm, a police report states.

The man then pulled out a box cutter, slashed Carter twice on the right wrist and fled, the report states.

The next morning, Carter approached an officer and said he had seen the man from the robbery standing at the carwash at 2300 Pike Ave., less than half a mile from the business. Carter said the man had on the same clothing he wore during the robbery - a jersey with green sleeves and the number “14” on the back and blue wind pants, an arrestreport states.

When the off icer approached the man, later identified as Vincent Harrison, 52, “his eyes opened very wide” and “it appeared ... he was about to run,” according to reports. The officer arrested Harrison without incident. He was charged with aggravated robbery.

Harrison was being held Thursday night at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $50,905 bond.
