— Mom charged, too, over baby’s abuse

The mother of a 6-monthold who police say suffered multiple fractures and brain swelling at the hands of a caretaker was charged Friday with permitting the abuse.

Tara Brooks, 22, of Conway surrendered to officers at a Little Rock police station and was charged with permitting abuse of a minor, an arrest report states.

On Feb. 10, a social worker at Arkansas Children’s Hospital told police a child had been admitted with “a fractured femur, multiple rib fractures and swelling on the brain,” reports state.

Brooks told police the child was recently in the care of Michael Allison, 22, of Little Rock, who told Brooks the baby rolled off the bed and hit her face on the bed or bed rails,reports state.

Allison was arrested Wednesday and charged with first-degree battery.

Brooks was being held Friday night at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Wallet left in car

leads to suspect

A Little Rock man faces aggravated-assault charges after he struck a police vehicle with his car and left his wallet at the scene, police said.

Isaac Dale, 27, of 5005 Wells St., who was being held at the Pulaski County jail on unrelated charges, was chargedThursday with aggravated assault, an arrest report states.

On Nov. 5, officer Aaron Oncken pulled over a Cadillac in the 10000 block of West Markham Street. The driver pulled into a parking spot at the nearby Motel 6 and then backed into Oncken’s vehicle, an affidavit states.

The Cadillac drove off and stopped on the north side of the motel, where the driver got out of the car and fled on foot. Oncken found Dale’s wallet in the driver’s seat, the affidavit states.

Dale was being held Friday night at the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
