— A 16-year-old Little Rock boy was sentenced to 10 years in prison Friday for robbing a man repairing a home six months ago.

Gregory Paul Foster III pleaded guilty before Circuit Judge Leon Johnson to robbery, reduced from aggravated robbery, and felony theft in exchange for a 10-year sentence that will be followed by a 10-year suspended sentence.

Foster, who turned 16 in May, will have to serve at least two years before he is eligible for parole, but that time could be reduced if he qualifies for boot camp.

Foster was 15 in January when, carrying a rifle, he approached Richard Morgan, who was installing shingles at a house on Greenway Drive. Foster made Morgan climb down the ladder and surrender his money, cell phone and the keys to Morgan’s 2011 Dodge Ram pickup.

Foster, with three passengers, was behind the wheel of the truck when police arrested him a short time later, according to arrest reports. Foster said the rifle was a pellet gun, police said.

Foster has an aggravated robbery conviction as a minor for robbing a Little Rock cabdriver in October 2010, according to testimony at a June hearing. He was 14 when he put a gun to the back of the driver’s head at Third and Rice streets. He told police the weapon wasn’t loaded and he needed money to buy clothes from a friend.
