— Christopher Webb, the former Farmington High School principal accused of assaulting a woman and killing a dog, was booked into jail and released after posting bond Thursday.

Webb, 42, had been hospitalized since his arrest two weeks ago. Sheriff’s deputies again took him into custody after his release from the hospital Thursday, said Kelly Cantrell, a spokesman for the Washington County sheriff’s office.

Just after 10 a.m., Webb was booked on charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member, thirddegree domestic battery, interference with emergency communications, second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest and cruelty to animals.

Webb was released two hours later after posting $5,000 bond through Advantage Bail Bonds. Typically, inmates must post 10 percent of the bond themselves, Cantrell said.

Webb is to be arraigned Aug. 20, said Washington County Prosecuting Attorney John Threet.

Webb was employed by the Farmington School District about four years ago. Before that, he was junior high school principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent in Prairie Grove. He worked as an assistant principal at Siloam Springs High School for a year before joining Farmington.

He resigned from his position with the Farmington School District late Monday.

Webb hasn’t surrendered his teaching license to the Arkansas Department of Education, nor has he contacted the department about doing so.

Webb was arrested while nude and covered in blood July 19 after choking his fiancee, Shannon Shrum, and trying to jab her eyes, according to police reports.

He also slit the throat of Haus, a 13-week-old Labrador puppy, according to a petition for an order of protection filed last week by Webb’s ex-wife, 42-year-old Dina Andrejcik.

Webb’s 12-year-old daughter was reportedly home during the incident.

A hearing on the petition for an order of protection is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 6 before Circuit Judge Mark Lindsay.

Webb’s age was given as 43 in earlier police accounts, but jail records show his birthday is later this year.
