35th annual awards ceremony honors service to community

— First lady Ginger and Gov. Mike Beebe mingled with honorees and their families July 20 at a Gold Circle Reception before the 35th Annual Community Service Awards at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.

Guests enjoyed a buffet in the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center before the ceremony in the Reynolds Performance Hall.

Honorees included Matt House, Amy Johnson and Pete Roth, all of Little Rock; Sharon Napier Williams of Booneville; Melody Gately of Benton; Mia Gordon of Greenbrier; and Mary Anne Benson of Mountain Home.

Mason Sifford of Little Rock was presented the Youth Humanitarian Award by Ginger Beebe. Weyerhaeuser of Hot Springs received the Small Corporate Humanitarian Award, while U.S. Pizza Co. received the Large Corporate Humanitarian Award. Olivia Myers Farrell of Little Rock received the Distinguished Citizen Award.

The awards are sponsored by KARK-TV, Channel 4, the Duncan Law Firm, the Department of Human Services Division of Community Service and Nonprofit Support and the governor’s office.
