Extension Homemakers Clubs mark 100 years

When Joyce Hall’s mother-in-law was no longer able to drive herself to her Extension Homemakers Club meetings, Hall took her. More than 30 years later, Hall is still going as a member, having fallen in love with the group’s purpose and methods.

Hall of Little Rock, a former Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council president, is a member of the Mabelvale Pioneer Community Club as well as the Baseline Extension Homemakers Club.

“Mabelvale is the oldest continuously meeting club of its kind in the United States — that has been declared by Congress,” she says.
