A plane crash in White County left a lot of damage, but the pilot was able to walk away.

According to a release from the White County Sheriff's Office, the pilot of the plane, J.P. Freppon, crashed the small aircraft early Thursday afternoon, with authorities getting word of the incident at 1:45 p.m.

Freppon was able to dump all the fertilizer in his load before landing the plane in a field, but it caught fire shortly after landing. The flames were extinguished by the Higginson Fire Department.
