SEARCY — The University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service will conduct a Rice Recipe Contest at noon July 9 in the White County Fair Office at the White County Fair Grounds in Searcy.
Entry forms may be obtained from the Extension Office.
The winner of the contest will advance to represent White County in the 2012 Arkansas Rice Expo Rice Recipe Contest, set for Aug. 3 in Stuttgart, where the state winner will receive a cash prize of $200.
The contest is open to adults 19 and older.
Rice in any form must be a prominent ingredient in the recipe, and ingredients need to be easily obtained in local grocery stores.
Entry forms must be received by 4:30 p.m. July 2 at the U of A, Division of Agriculture, Cooperative Extension Service Office, 411 N. Spruce St., Searcy, AR 72143.
