One death reported after West Memphis funeral home crash

— Authorities say a truck in West Memphis crashed into a funeral home, killing one person and injuring four others who were attending a visitation.

The crash happened Thursday night at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. West Memphis Mayor Bill Johnson tells The Commercial Appeal that the driver may have suffered a seizure when she drove into the funeral home.

The West Memphis Fire Department says two women and a man were taken by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis. A 3-year-old girl was taken by helicopter to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and a 5-year-old girl was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.

A preliminary Arkansas State Police accident report said the truck struck five people in the parking lot before crashing into the building.

According to the report, Isabell Rushing, of Townley, Ala., died from injuries sustained in the accident.

The conditions of the other victims were not immediately known.

The driver was taken to Crittenden Regional Hospital in West Memphis. Authorities say the five people hurt in the crowd were all related.
