LITTLE ROCK — Three people were killed and two others injured early Tuesday when a car veered into the median and overturned multiple times in Jonesboro.
Arkansas State Police said driver Brittany Nichols, 23, and passengers Breniyah Nichols and Deriana Nichols, ages unavailable, were pronounced dead at the scene after the 1:07 a.m. accident.
According to a preliminary report, Brittany Nichols was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Impala north on Highway 63 when the vehicle went into the median near Nestle Road in Jonesboro. The car overturned several times and then came to a rest in the southbound lanes, police said.
Two other passengers - Tyisha Smith, 19, and Daveon Green, age unavailable - were transported to Memphis hospitals with unspecified injuries.
The wreck remains under investigation.
