Bond set at $500,000 for LR murder suspect

— A 29-year-old woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death after he talked to another woman has been ordered held in lieu of $500,000 bond.

Alisha Nicole Pearson faced a judge in Little Rock District Court Tuesday morning, appearing by video less than a day after she is purported to have stabbed 32-year-old Theodore Mitchell in the neck.

According to a police report released Tuesday morning, 26-year-old Brandy Wilson told authorities the incident started when Pearson began arguing with Mitchell "due to him trying to talk to Ms. Wilson."

Prosecutors asked for a high bond after noting that Pearson has previous convictions for terroristic threatening, third-degree battery and harassment as well as numerous other arrests.

Pearson also admitted to police that she was the one who stabbed Pearson, prosecutors added during the brief hearing before Little Rock District Judge Mark Leverett.

Pearson, appearing from the Pulaski County jail, didn't speak during the hearing. A preliminary not guilty plea was entered on her behalf.

Mitchell was stabbed Monday night at 5919 W. 19th St. and he died later that night at UAMS Medical Center. Witnesses told police Pearson and Mitchell were arguing when she stabbed him with a large knife

After being questioned by detectives, Pearson was booked into jail shortly after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
