Pinterest text prank draws response from Rogers police

A prank by a 15-year-old girl involving a text message sent to a randomly selected number and the social-networking site Pinterest sparked an investigation by the Rogers Police Department on Tuesday, according to a news release.

Pranksters select a random number, then send a text message: "I hid the body now what?" The pranksters then post responses to Pinterest.

This 15-year-old girl randomly selected the cell phone number of Rogers police officer.

"Not knowing if the text was a prank or a legitimate text, detective began an investigation into the source of the message," the news release stated.

They traced the number to a Rogers residence and found the girl.

"While the text was intended as a prank, the Rogers Police Department has no sense of humor when it comes to public safety," the news release stated.

Police released the girl with a warning.
