Three men were arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop on Thursday, according to a report from the Pulaski County sheriff's office.
An officer pulled over a car with a headlight out and smelled marijuana in the vehicle. The driver, Matthew Hackett, 21, admitted to smoking marijuana two hours earlier, according to the report.
The officer searched the car and recovered a revolver, two bags of a substance he believed to be marijuana and a bottle of pills, including a morphine pill and 19 oxycodone pills. He also found a digital scale, plastic bags and what he believed to be a marijuana cutting tool. The officer performed a pat search and found a handgun in the waistband of passenger Nicolas Wade, 22.
Hackett, Nicolas Wade and passenger Zachary Wade, 20, were charged with possession of marijuana with purpose and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hackett was also charged with simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and having a headlight out. Additionally, Nicolas was charged with carrying a weapon and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. Zachary was also charged with obstruction of governmental operations.
