A 26-year-old man was killed last night during a shooting, according to a report from Pine Bluff police.
Authorities responded to a call around 1 a.m. on South Richard Street. They found Taraence Lamar Franklin in the driveway. He appeared to have at least one gunshot wound on his upper body and was unresponsive, according to the report.
Franklin was visiting a friend when someone kicked in the front door. Franklin chased the intruder with a semiautomatic handgun into the front yard. Shots were fired. Franklin's gun was recovered at the scene.
The coroner pronounced Franklin dead at the scene. Authorities have not identified any suspects.
