— Authorities have resumed searching for a body that was spotted in high water at Boyle Park after being unable to locate it Wednesday night.

Crews first searched the low-water bridge in the park, where the body had been pinned late Wednesday, but determined after lowering cameras into the water that it was no longer there. Firefighters, some wearing diving gear to enter the water if necessary, were working downstream as the search continued Thursday morning.

Details on how the woman's body ended up in the park or how she died aren't clear, a police spokesman said.

Little Rock Fire Department Capt. Jason Weaver said firefighters were first called around 8 p.m. Wednesday after passersby spotted the woman's body. The conditions made it difficult to recover then, however.

"It's just the water was still flowing and it was just too dark," Weaver said.

On Thursday morning, a small group of firefighters huddled near an orange, spray-painted 'X' on the bridge marking where the woman's body was the night before. Firefighters lowered instruments into the water and worked to remove debris from the area before determining the body wasn't there.
