3 COMEDY ImprovLittleRock is once again invading The Public Theatre, 616 Center St., Little Rock, with its unpredictable shenanigans and an evening of comedy shows. First up, the troupe pokes fun at musical theater with Les Improvables: An ILR Musical, 7 p.m. Saturday. At 10 p.m., the jokes fly fast and furious at ILR’s Spring Flurries, a show of short-form improvisational comedy.

5 CULTURE Take a trip to Africa without leaving the capital city as Mosaic Templars Cultural Center celebrates the opening of “From Here to Timbuktu: A Journey Through West Africa.” Opening festivities, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, will include music, crafts and games. 7 CONJURE A group of young magicians will be wizzing around for an Art of Illusion Magic Show at 7 p.m. Friday in theStella Boyle Smith Concert Hall, Fine Arts Building, UALR, 2801 S. Rico Belotti will conduct a program titled “Story Time,” marking the band’s 30 years of free concerts, including William Camphouse’s The Fighting 99th march, composed in homage to the Tuskegee Airmen, and, in memory of composer W. 9 CONCERT Two all-female bands - Emma’s Revolution, from Mount Rainier, Md., and Fayetteville’s Big Bad Gina - will co-headline a benefit concert for the Center for Artistic Revolution at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Unitarian Universalist Church, 1818 Reservoir Road, Little Rock.

(The concert, suitable for all ages, also marks the release of Emma’s Revolution’s new CD, Revolutions Per Minute.) The center “works with a holistic combination of progressive education, organizing skills, advocacy, and creative/cultural work in order to create a fair Arkansas that values all of its residents.” Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door (but nobody will be turned away). 10 CULTIVATE Daffodils are blooming all over as the Arkansas Daffodil Society presents the 50th annual Arkansas State and Southern Regional Daffodil Show, 2-5 p.m.
