Police: Forged court document lands Cabot woman in jail

— A Cabot woman's attempt to hide her criminal history from an employer only resulted in new charges, according to a North Little Rock Police Department report.

Christy G. Milam, 31, was arrested Thursday on charges of first- and second-degree forgery after her employer reported to police that she presented a document appearing to come from Lonoke County Circuit Court stating her criminal history was false.

A detective contacted a deputy prosecutor in Lonoke County, who examined the purported court affidavit and verified it was counterfeit, according to the report.

A detective located Milam at a North Little Rock church and transported her to the police station for questioning. There, Milam admitted creating the affidavit and forging a detective's signature, police said. Milam also admitted creating a pair of counterfeit treatment notices from local health care facilities, the report states.

The report did not identify the workplace where Milam presented the affidavit or include information on her criminal history. An online database of Arkansas court cases shows convictions for theft, forgery and fraudulent use of a credit card.

Milam was booked into the Pulaski County Jail.
