CHERYL ANN BARNETT of Little Rock, beloved daughter ofPam and David Barnett, sister to Jennifer (Barnett) Nipps and Scott, John David Barnett, and aunt to Payton and Garrett Nipps and Piper Barnett, has been set free from her littlebroken body. She is now getting to run and walk down streets of gold with her Heavenly Father! She was greeted in Heaven by her grandparents, Dr. H.C. and Martha Barnett and Frank and Clarissa Cole all formerly of Jonesboro. What a joyful time for Cheryl Ann to get to be with her grandparents again. But for all of us who are left behind and no longer have the privilege of her presence, we are so so sad. There was no other person who expressed the joy of living like Cheryl Ann could - no one who could give love as freely and genuinely as she did - and it was especially humbling to witness the unconditional love she extended to everyone she encountered no matter who they were or what they had to offer: She graciously welcomed the rich or poor, happy or distressed, healthy or sick. Cheryl Ann never met anyone she didn’t immediately love. And thankfully, Cheryl Ann was loved by many.

Cheryl Ann was born July 19, 1977 in Little Rock. At birth she had multiple handicaps, both physically and mentally. We had little idea how much pain and suffering she experienced daily. If you had the honor of meeting her and getting to know her you would have witnessed what a person at peace is like. Her countenance was marked by a joy for life. Unconditional love and forgiveness were the hallmarks of her character. No one has taught us more about the real joy of living and true humility than CherylAnn. The depth of love she possessed and then extended to others cannot be expressed in mere words. There was an enveloping warmth about her that reached deep down into our souls. She made us feel amazingly special and important.

Please feel her families heartfelt love and thanks to all of you who extended your love, kindness and acceptance to Cheryl Ann. You have been a blessing to our family. The different parts you all played in her life were so important to us and to her. Cheryl Ann had many wonderful physicians that helped us make her life better and more comfortable. Thank you for your expertise and concern.

Our lives will not be the same without Cheryl Ann and there will be a huge part of each one of us missing without her presence. We will all miss her smiles, hugs and kisses.

But above all else we acknowledge and give thanks to our wise and loving Heavenly Father. It was His plan that brought Cheryl Ann into our family. He is the one who took what would seem to the world to be a “burden” and truly made her the biggest blessing of our lives. Thank you Lord Jesus.

CARL WENDELL FLEMISTER JR., 50, of Little Rock, died Monday, March 19, 2012, while on vacation in Cancun, Mexico. He was born on August 27, 1961, to Carl Wendell Flemister, Sr. and Jeanette Conkin Flemister in Evanston, Ill. He graduated in 1979 from Northeast High School, North Little Rock, and in 1983 earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Arkansas. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

Upon graduation, Wendell began his marketing career at Roark Resort in Branson, Missouri. Later he founded Apex Marketing, Inc. with his father, Carl Wendell Flemister Sr. Apex Marketing grew from a single office to five satellite offices in four states and became the premier marketing company in the country. In 1997, Apex Marketing was sold to Fairfield Communities.

In 2000, Wendell and his wife, Wanda, elected to return to the marketing business with this simple business philosophy, “Always Strive to Exceed Expectations.” To describe Wendell, words such as successful, respected, generous, creative, and leadership all come to mind. From an early beginning, Wendell had visions for his future and his new company, Vacation Tour & Travel. Wendell dreamed big, but what set him apart from the dreamers were his accomplishments. Hard work was just a way of life for him. Starting not only one but two highly successful marketing companies is a testament to his brilliant business talents. In the vacation development industry, he is known for breaking boundaries and helping clients reach goals beyond expectations.

With one of the most respected names in the business in an ever-changing climate, Wendell was one of the few that could embrace the challenge and make it work with creative moves to stay ahead of the game. Wendell’s “can do” leadership is what made his employees follow without hesitation. Everyone that ever worked with him will tell you they were proud to be a part of his team. With the foundation laid, the legacy of his vision will continue to move forward in the manner he would expect today and beyond.

With all of his success in his business endeavors, his most treasured accomplishments were his two sons, of which he could not be more proud. The true measure of a man is not known by his professional successes or material gains, but by his love for his family, and in this, Wendell Flemister was a giant.

He is survived by his loving wife, best friend and constant companion, Wanda, his sons, Alex and Blake; his parents, Jeanette and Carl Wendell Flemister Sr.; one sister, Pamela Boerner and her husband David; one brother, Philip Flemister and wife Nicole; his mother-in-law, Stella Daniels of Branson, Missouri; and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. He will forever leave a void in the lives of those he touched that cannot be filled or replaced.

Wendell’s passions included watching his sons play PA Bruin football, attending Razorback and Dallas Cowboy football games with his family, and spending time deer hunting withhis sons.

Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, March 26, 2012 at St. James United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wendell Flemister Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Centennial Bank in care of Brad French. This scholarship fund is for high school seniors seeking a business or marketing degree. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/chenal.

SEARCY - Robert Earl Norman, age 89, left us to be with the Lord on March 22, 2012. He was born October 16, 1922, in Hickory Plains, Arkansas, to Franklin Oscar Norman and Gertrude WatersNorman who preceded him in death.

Most of his childhood was spent on the family farm raising cotton and sorghum for molasses. They raised their own livestock andgrew their own vegetables. He always said they didn’t have much monetarily and they worked from sunup to sundown but they ate very well. He graduated from Des Arc High School and attended State Teachers College in Conway.

In 1942, he married Minna Lea Simmons Norman and they raised three children, Robbye Norman Ridout and James O. Norman of Searcy who survive him and Robert Wesley Norman who in death preceded his Father in 1989. He was also preceded in death by three brothers; Edward, Charles and Richard Norman, one sister Evelyn Norman and one great grandson, Crews Allen Smith.

Mr. Norman began his career with a John Deere Dealership, A.F. Horne Company, in Des Arc in 1945. He eventually came to own his own Deere dealerships, Norman Implement Companies, in Des Arc, Kensett, Augusta and Damascus which he operated early on with Wesley until his death and then for many years with his son, James, just retiring in July of last year. He received recognition in 2003 from Deere and Company for 50 years of service. Mr. Norman, having been the grand patriarch of a very large family for so many years has certainly passed the “work ethic” gene along to all of his children and grandchildren.

His work was his passion. He loved greeting his friends and customers at the dealership. After the death of his first wife in 1980, he married Carol Ann Nicholson Norman who survives him.

They were faithful members of First United Methodist Church first in Des Arc and then in Searcy. They were active members of the Murray Sunday School Class and the Tuesday Night Supper Club. Bob and Carol, avid Razorback fans, were contributors to the program and did not miss any games until Bob’s failing health caused him to miss. Carol continued to make the games whenever possible and he never missed a game on television.

Mr. Norman was a 33rd Degree Mason and was a member of White River Lodge #37 in Des Arc for over 50 years. He received his 33rd Degree in Masonry at the Albert Pike Temple in Little Rock in 2005.

Other than the above named, he is survived by a son-in-law, Wayne Ridout and a daughter in law, Cecily Norman both of Searcy. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Kristen (Kirk) Smith and Ross Norman (Betsy) Ridout of Searcy, Kari(Mark) Rockwell of Paragould, J.O. (Tamra) Norman of Little Rock, Andrew (Janelle) Norman of Tulsa, Rachel (Adam) Van Lear of Austin, and Christopher (Amy) Norman of Houston. He is also survived by brothers and sisters in law, Bea Norman of Des Arc, Rosemary Fortenberry, Larry Nicholson and J.D. Nicholson of Newport, Betty and George Doty of Conway and Sammy Byford of Wilson.

Visitation at Garth Funeral Home in Des Arc will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday March 25. A reception will be held at First United Methodist Church in Searcy on Monday at 1:00 and the service will follow at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, 304 N. Main in Searcy, or First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 498 in Des Arc. Online guest register www.garthfuneralhome.com.

VILONIA - Julie Elaine Garrison McBee, 29, of Vilonia, went to be with her Lord on Thursday,March 22, 2012. She was born May 22, 1982, in Little Rock to Ralph and Jan Garrison. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Vilonia.

She was preceded in deathby her grandparents, Paul and Ruie Garrison of Vilonia and Reed and Dorothy Luck of Beebe. She is survived by her parents, her son Noah McBee and daughter Lily McBee, all of Vilonia, and one sister Nicole Bond (Travis) of Cabot.

Julie loved life, her children, family and friends. She expressed her love through art and leaves her work for us to cherish. Her smile lit up the room, her contagious laughter lifted our spirits. She will be missed, but her memory will always be with us.

We struggle trying to understand why our little girl left us so soon. In our numbness and disbelief we sit and try to find an answer. Then, when it seems to be falling apart, calmness enters our midst. God is here soothingour hearts, showering us with His love and letting us know He is in control. He lets us know He knew what He wanted to do, for us as well as for our little girl. Our faith and peace rests with our Lord as He now walks hand in hand with our little angel. God is good!

Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2012, in the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conway (501) 327-7727. The family will greet friends starting at 9:00 a.m. Monday until service time. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com.

WHITE HALL - On March 21, 2012, Estee Alexander Gober, 3,of White Hall, was granted her angel wings. She was born July 5, 2008, in Little Rock, daughter of Chance and Heather Glass Gober of White Hall.

Estee and her family havebeen members of Central Baptist Church and have recently joined First Baptist Church of White Hall.

Estee’s life would seem too short to many, but for those who were touched by her, understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the amount of time we had her with us. Her contagious smile, shrill laughter, bouncy blonde curls, and bright blue eyes could melt the hearts of those around her. She loved Jesus, flowers, dancing in the rain, her kitty cats and the color pink; but more than anything she loved her mommy, daddy and brothers.

Her eyes shone the brightest and her smile was the biggest when she was with her family. She enjoyed her time with mommy getting her nails done, shopping and playing dress-up. She loved to imitate her mommy when she cared for her baby dolls. She adored her daddy and loved riding 4 wheelers with him. The sound of her laughter was never more prevalent than when she was playing with the brothers she loved and idolized. She loved swinging on the tire swing with them and sneaking their cell phones to play games. She shared a love of dancing with her cousin Paige. Story time with her brother Zach was a daily time she looked forward to. It was not unusual to see her dressed in her princess dress catching tadpoles with her brothers.

Her presence completed this family. Each day was a blessing. Her parents were so proud of her. From her earliest days at home, to her last moments here with them, she made them feel like luckiest parents on Earth. With Estee’s passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss her every day, especially her smile, she will always remain forever in our hearts. Estee leaves behind many family members and friends who will continue to think of her daily, love her always and hold her close to heart. She is with us in the wind and on the rainbow in the sky. She did not go alone, a part of us with went her. Whatever Estee was to each person who knew her, she still is. Call her by her name, speak to her as we always have. Laugh at the memories of her silly little escapades. Though she cannot be seen, she is still with us.

The family wishes to thank the community as well as across the nation for coming together in love and harmony in remembrance of Estee’s life. Estee’s daddy asks that everyone continue to pass forward the love that Estee had for everyone.

Survivors include her loving parents; three brothers, Zach Gober of Monticello, Clay Gober and Jack Gober, both of White Hall; grandparents; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2012, at First Baptist Church of White Hall with Reverend Paul Williams and Reverend Allen Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in Drake Cemetery in Star City with Reverend Frank Matchett officiating by Ralph Robinson & SonFuneral Directors. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at Robinson’s.
