LAFAYETTE, La. — Police in Lafayette, La., say an Arkansas man was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a pickup.
The accident happened around 8:40 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators say a pickup was driving southbound on Ambassador Caffery Parkway, when a motorcycle entered the roadway from a private drive. The two vehicles collided causing the rider of the motorcycle to be ejected.
Police say the driver of the motorcycle, Thomas Smith of Hope, Arkansas, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. There were no injuries reported from the occupants of the truck.
The crash remains under investigation.
